I Made It - 480 gm - It is supposed to say grams! That is how much my first grandson weighed at birth 1.1 lbs. We lost our second daughter Rachel in the NICU at 4 days and here we were 28 years later facing the same challenge. Our daughter Kelly had also lost her sister Rachel in the same incident and now she was in the NICU with her own son Everett and we said please God not again, this cannot be happening to our family again. I had just watched the documentary "True Spirit" on Jessica Watson who had circumnavigated the globe solo and unassisted, one of the youngest people to ever do it at age 16. The theme song was "I Made It" by The Tones and I said that's it! That's our song and I played it 5-6 times a day and prayed and prayed. Prayers came from all over the United States for Everett. After 92 days and two bowel surgeries Everett came home to Islamorada, Florida in the Florida Keys and he truly did make it!! Just like the song says - to live with his family that was waiting for him! It was a true miracle - and he is a healthy three year old boy today playing T-Ball and tennis with his happy Grandpop and Grandmom in Naples, FL
