My story “Health is Wealth” is inspired by my cousin Travis. While he was 5 years younger than me, he was a giant in my eyes. In his younger years, he was a handsome, all-around athlete with a charismatic smile and the gift of gab. He was naturally good looking and smart, which was a winning combination for many years. As he went through college and eventually married with three sons his health began to take a toll. Like many of us, Travis was focused on his family and work life and sacrificed his own health in the process. I watched him struggle through many health battles and it was difficult to watch him and his family suffer. In the end he passed away after a battle with complications due to cardiovascular disease. As I reflect on my own health journey I always think of my cousins fate and as a result I have made a commitment to make my health a priority. Because Heath truly is Wealth!
