9 years later, it’s amazing to look back at this photo. I almost don’t recognize her. So much has changed. If I could talk to that version of myself, I’d say brace yourself babe for this wild ride you’re about to go on. At the time of this photo, I was about to get married, and we had rescued our first dog Daisy. We fell in love with her, and knew that she had been through so hard times. She became so much more to us than just a dog. She was there through our fertility journey. She was there with us through us during Covid when my husband lost his job and I was 7.5 months pregnant. She was there for our first house, welcoming home our two older boys. Changing jobs, our second baby being hospitalized twice in his first 6 months., our boys feeding her all the things. And last summer we said goodbye to our sweet girl but not before learning we were shockingly pregnant with our third boy after two difficult journeys to welcome our first two. We said goodbye to our girl in our home, showering her with love like the she had with us over the 8 years she was ours.
