We Need Each Other When I was young, my father taught me some of life's most important lessons. Family matters. Kindness matters. Treating people with respect matters. He often reminded me that he would not always be here, but that people would always be important. I have carried those words with me throughout my life. They are the reason I thrive on meeting new people, hearing their stories, and learning from their experiences. I listen because everyone has something valuable to share. Over the years, I've noticed something that has stayed with me. At funerals, people often spend hours telling loved ones left behind how much the deceased meant to them. Yet many never took the time to share those same words while that person was alive. People rearrange schedules, travel long distances, and make sacrifices to attend a funeral, but often struggle to make time for a conversation, a visit, or a simple expression of love beforehand. That realization reinforces a truth I hold close: we need each other. Every person we encounter has value. Whether we are pouring into someone else's life or they are pouring into ours, there is purpose in the connection. Each of us carries experiences, testimonies, wisdom, and lessons that could change the course of another person's life. None of us were placed on this earth to focus solely on ourselves. We are here to make life better for one another. To do that, we must engage. We must listen. We must relate. We must love. Although the message in this photo is simple, the focus is on "need": We Need Each Other! We are better when we are connected. We are stronger when we recognize the value we bring to one another. Without equivocation, we accomplish more together. And we create a better world when we take the time to truly see, appreciate, and care for the people around us...while we still can.
