“Tuesday”

My uncle recently passed away. While going through some of his documents with my older brother, I ran across a sealed blue envelope. Out of curiosity, I opened it to make sure it wasn't something important that we needed to save. Inside this envelope was a thank-you card. The card was from a missionary who had visited and spent time with my uncle at his house in Huntington Beach. The letter thanked him for being willing to give his time and talents freely to this missionary. My uncle was a chiropractor prior to his retirement and so would often give free "back-crackings" to anyone in need! At the end of the card it was signed: Thank you for the crackings and for the many lessons about "TUESDAY". This made me smile. Tuesday was one of the quirky ways he chose to swear at people without using profanity. He would look at his hand and count off his fingers and say Sunday is the thumb, Monday is the index finger and Tuesday is the middle finger! He said there'll be plenty of Tuesdays in your life but know there are six more days that people haven't ruined. I had forgotten all about this until I read that blue card. What a wonderful gift he left me to remind me that there will always be better days and life is too short to worry about TUESDAY!
