I was married to a very charming man who was a delight to everyone around him. Except when he drank. Which was every evening after work. When he drank, he was mean, very mean. There was no physical abuse, but the emotional and mental abuse took its toll. After beating me down and convincing me I was worth nothing, I finally left. My children and I started a new life without him and we are all the better for it. People often think of physical abuse when talking about domestic violence, but the mental and emotional abuse is just as real. I survived all he threw at me and have come out on the other side stronger than ever. I give all praise and glory to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
