LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE In memory of my mother, Sunny My mother's voicemail said it all: "Sorry I'm not here right now—I'm out having an adventure." That wasn't just a message. It was her life. When she passed, we faced a choice. Sunny never wanted to be stagnant, never wanted to be trapped in one place. So we scattered her ashes—letting her continue the adventure she lived. We placed on her grave marker the words that defined her: Life is an adventure. It felt like the only honest thing we could do for someone who refused to be still. To her, life wasn't about destinations—it was about people. The grocery store was an adventure with her. Anywhere was an adventure because she exuded life itself and made everyone feel truly seen. She passed peacefully, still having the time of her life. Exactly as she would have wanted. My spark is dimmer without her. But it lives on in my children. They carry her wildness, her joy, her refusal to let life be small. I see her in my daughter—that same sparkle, that same pull toward adventure. And every time I tell them the stories of Sunny's wild antics and infectious spirit, they learn: Life is not about staying still. It's about the people you meet and the love you leave behind. My children are living her legacy. They understand that an adventure isn't a place—it's a way of being. It's turning up fully and making others feel alive. Sunny, your adventure didn't end. It flows through us now. Life is an adventure. Always. With infinite love, Your daughter
